Charlotte’s House

Charlotte’s House

Architect: ARG Studio

Year Completed: 2013

The terrace house typology is here made more plastic in the manipulation of space in this design for one of four homes. The garden is located at the back where the space opens out to, via a double height living area. This is the grand space here, open to the dining and kitchen.

The stairs cut right through the floors and is topped with a skylight, accentuating the idea of architectural promenade and journey, a concept which is also highlighted with a bridge that links the space to a balcony overlooking the garden from the first floor.

Recently, two adjacent terraces have been joined to form one larger home. The move further elaborates the themes already present in the original design, with a more dramatic bridge. This new arrangement is currently undergoing furnishing.
